TCHRD has translated the contents of a questionnaire that was distributed among students at Sorig Lobling School in Chabcha (Ch: Gonghe) town in Serchen County in Tsolho (Ch: Hainan) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province.

Relevant government officials, after distributing the questionnaires, spoke on interpreting the document’s content stressing the need to protect and maintain stability in Tsolho region. The speech by the relevant authorities also included allegations and abusive remarks against His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the so-called “Dalai splittist clique”, holding them responsible for the continued unrest in the region.

Thousands of Tibetan students at Sorig Lobling medical school in Chabcha (Ch: Gonghe) protested against the distribution of a ten-point political questionnaire and accompanying “patriotic education” sessions that contained disparaging remarks against the Tibetan spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

On 26 November, at around 9 am (local time), the protest erupted after ten-point questionnaire was distributed among the students at the medical school in Chabcha town of Serchen County in Tsolho (Ch: Hainan) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province.

The following is a complete translation of public notification issued by Chinese authorities in Malho (Ch: Huangnan) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. Issued on 14 November, the notification was issued by through Malho Prefectural TV channal to four majir counties in Malho, including Rebkong (Ch: Tongren) County which has witnessed continued protest sel-immolations this month.

A Tibetan woman has died after staging a burning protest in Rebkong (Ch: Tongren) County taking the total self-immolation toll in the County to eight Tibetans in this month alone, according to information received by TCHRD.

Chakmo Kyi, whose age is not clear at the time of reporting, died after she set herself on fire at Dolma Square in front of Rongwo Monastery in Rebkong County, Malho (Ch: Huangnan) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province.

The Chinese authorities have banned monks from Ngoshul Monastery to offer condolences and join prayer rituals to observe the death of a teen monk who died after setting himself on fire in protest against the Chinese government in Ngoshul Village in Gomang Township of Ngaba (Ch: Aba) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.

Dorjee, 15, a monk from Ngoshul Monastery staged a joint self-immolation protest on 7 November with two fellow monks, Samdup and Dorjee Kyap, both 16. The three monks burned themselves alive as they shouted slogans for the ‘return of the Dalai Lama’ and freedom for Tibet’ in front of the Public Security Bureau office of Gomang Township.

Thousands of Tibetan school children staged a protest march early today in Rebkong (Ch: Tongren) County where three Tibetans burned themselves alive in the past five days in Malho (Ch: Huangnan) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province, in the Tibetan province of Amdo.

This is the second protest reported from Rebkong County after yesterday’s protest in which about 700 schoolchildren pulled down the five-starred Chinese flags hoisted on top of their school building in Dowa Township. Chinese flags on Dowa Township government office were also pulled down.

Three Tibetan monks in their mid-teens have burned themselves alive at around 3 pm yesterday in Ngaba (Ch: Aba) County of Ngaba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.

Sources told TCHRD that the monks belonged to Ngoshul Monastery, located in Ngoshul nomadic village in Gomang Township, Ngaba County. Dorjee, 15, and Samdup, 16, and Dorjee Kyap, 16, set themselves on fire in front of a Public Security Bureau office calling for ‘return of the Dalai Lama to Tibet’ and ‘freedom for Tibet’ in Gomang Township in upper part of Ngaba County. Moments later, the PSB officers arrived on the scene and took the monks away.

Months after their arbitrary detention and disappearance, five Tibetan monks from Drango Monastery have been sentenced to varying terms of six to seven years for their alleged involvement in 23 January 2012 protest in Drango (Ch: Luhuo) County of Kardze (Ch: Ganzi) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.

According to confirmed information received by TCHRD, Tulku Lobsang Tenzin, 40, a reincarnated lama and abbot of Gochen Monastery was sentenced to seven years in prison. Drango Monastery’s teacher Geshe Tsewang Namgyal, 42, and accountant Tashi Thupwang aka Dralha, 31, were sentenced to six years. The monastery’s shop manager Thinlay was sentenced to five years. Geshe Tenzin Palsang aka Tenga, senior caretaker of the monastery, was sentenced to six years.

A near-total information blockade has been imposed in Kanlho (Ch: Gannan) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture where seven Tibetans burned themselves in protest in the past month.

Local authorities have clamped down on the Internet and mobile phone lines, imposing an indefinite ban on the sale of mobile SIM cards on three known shops in Sangchu (Ch: Xiahe) County, according to information received by TCHRD from a source with contacts in the region.
